 Jul (15th) - Haglofs Lizard TopWe've just got the last stock of the lovely Haglofs Lizard Top in mens and ladies sizes. They are a brilliantly flexible technical softshell mid layer and have been sold out since the start of the season.
We've only got a few in Men's and Ladies' so they will not last long...

 Jun (23rd) - Paramo Adventure On - Now on!We are now all up and running with the Paramo Adventure on Promotion. If you are looking for the excellent Paramo Travel Gear - then now is the time to get some (buy three and get the cheapest free). The Shirts and trousers are both excellent Summer-weight fabrics - they are fast drying and very comfortable to wear.
It's also worth looking at the other offer - buy a Velez Light or Regular smock and get a Torres Light gilet or Torres gilet for £10.00. The Torres gilet is one of the most useful bits of kit we have - for only £10 - a bargain!

 Jun (15th) - Paramo Adventure On...We'll be running a Paramo Adventure On promotion event in-store and by phone order from this weekend.

 Jun (10th) - New BannerWe've just uploaded a new banner for the Website taken by Gary Fitch. This one is a shot of Ingleborough taken in the sunlight of a late summer evening. Ingleborough is one of the Yorkshire Three Peaks.
The 3 peaks one of the most popular attractions locally - at least one or two of them are on the itinerary of walkers visiting the area and many come to take all 3 on in one day.

 Jun (1st) - Paramo Vista NewsWe've had the Vista in for a couple of months now and wanted to post an update on our progress with the jacket. We've had to wait a while longer though as the weather has been either cold and dry or warm and dry so short of using a hosepipe, we have yet to get enough use to really comment on the full capabilities of the jacket.
However, the weather is changing and we are getting a more rounded picture of the performance of the jacket and some useful comments from customers to boot.
In particular, two things stick out about the jacket at the moment. Firstly, as the lightest Paramo yet (by virtue of a lack of zips and other features) it's brilliantly packable given the level of comfort and performance you get. It easily stows away in a pack. Secondly, we love the position of the main pockets on the jacket - a nice height for comfort whilst walking and yet out of the way for wearing packs or harnesses.

 May (22nd) - New Paramo GearWe just been looking at the new Paramo gear for the winter season and it's looking even more impressive. We can't say too much but they are finally making a ladies fit for the Velez trousers - this is very welcome and we've spoken to lots and lots of customers who love the performance of the trousers - this is bound to be a popular item in the autumn when it's released. We are also really excited to see that there will be a specific Pajaro trouser in Moss green on offer from the Autumn. It will use Paramo's regular weight waterproof analogy fabrics and will provide a great alternative to the classic Cascada waterproof trousers.

 May (20th) - Well Done Gigg to Gigg 3 'Peakers'Well done to all participants in this year's Gigg to Gigg 3 Peaks Challenge. In a record-breaking year all 50 entrants went on to complete the 38 mile walk and finish the event. Even the headmaster made it round! The event is great for the students, staff and parents who participate but the main aim is to raise funds for the Ananda Marga orphanage near Mombasa in Kenya.
We helped again this year by providing hats for all participants!

 Apr (25th) - More Limited Edition ColoursWe've just got delivery of some more limited edition Paramo jackets. We are really excited about these ones as they are all versions of the Paramo lightweight waterproof jackets and smocks. We've had some amazing feedback from customers this past year about the Velez Light and Quito jackets. Now we've added the Vista jacket to this line up there's a great range of Paramo light jackets.
The new Limited Edition Colours are likely to be firm favourites. We've got the Velez Light Smock in Citrus (it's bright) and the New Vista jacket in Citrus also - if you run, bike or hike and need to be seen, the Velez light and Vista light in Citrus is going to be a great option.
We've also got a limited run of Quito light jackets in Black with Grey trim. If the bright butternut colour or the fir green doesn't work for you, then the Black will be a really subtle alternative.

 | Apr (10th) - Haglofs Ready to Go
Our Haglofs Section is now fully in-store and online. In the short time that it's been in place we've been really impressed by the response from customers. Apart from the fact that all the Haglofs gear looks really nice, we've had a lot of feeddback about how much people appreciate the quality of the clothing and equipment - there's definately a serious Haglofs fan base out there.
Our current favourite item is the Haglofs Rugged Fjell pant - we are having trouble keeping it in stock. The Rugged Fjell pant is well worth a look - it's really an all year trouser and apart from all the pockets and features you could need, the fabrics are really comfortable to wear and the quality is really impressive (they really are rugged).

 Mar (23th) - New BannerGary Fitch (see earlier items) has supplied us with some new web banners. All of them are of local scenery or landmarks.
We've posted up the one of Attermire Scar - this is part of the local scenery and is only a few minutes away from the shop.

Mar (17th) - Paramo Special Event 2nd April to 11th AprilWe'll be holding a spring Paramo special event this year over Easter. The Paramo event will run from Good Friday (2nd April) to Sunday 11th April.
We'll be one of the first dealers to have the Paramo Vista Waterproof Jacket in stock - it's the new Paramo lightweight jacket. It's a little more stripped down that the Quito (no side vents) and will feature two external zipped pockets (positioned higher up the jacket to allow for harnesses and rucksacks to be worn without hindering access to the pockets). It will be a shorter cut, much like the Quito and comes in some great colours....
Alongside the New Paramo Vista jacket, we'll be getting all the new colours in the Velez Adventure Light Smocks and the new lightweight Torres Gilet....

 Mar (16th) - Haglofs Now OnlineWe've just in the process of getting our Haglofs stock online. As well as re-organising the shop, we've been busy adding Haglofs waterproofs, Haglofs Fleeces, Haglofs softshell jackets and Haglofs rucksacks to the website. If you don't know much about the brand, it's a functional, very high quality clothing and equipment brand.
We've been testing Haglofs waterproofs for a while now and along with the softshell and base layers we've been really happy with the performance and with the quality of the clothing. The rucksacks are also functional and extremely durable..

 Feb (26th) - Snowdon ChallengeAndrew Craig is undertaking a great challenge in aid of the Breast Cancer Campaign. He's going to climb Mount Snowdon once a week in 2010. These first few weeks he's been battling snow and ice to the summit. He bought a Paramo Adventure Light Smock (pictured here) from us and a pair of Velez Light Trousers and is now a big Paramo fan.

 Feb (8th) - It's Cold InsideJust in case you've been in this week and noticed a chill in the air - this is just a quick note to apologise for the lack of heating in our shop this week.
It's my fault, I forgot to check the heating oil tank last week and it's now run out. Apparently our oil supplier is super busy and so the heating has been off for six days now. Needless to say all the winter clothing has been on test and we've all got staff issue fingerless gloves. More oil should be on its way tomorrow...

 Feb (6th) - Gigg 2 Gigg WalkWe supported the Giggleswick to Giggleswick Three Peaks Challenge last year and we got an email about this year's event from Bill Bartlett this week.
It's due to be held on May 16th and will cover the Yorkshire Three Peaks (Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough). It covers around 32 miles and the group starts from Giggleswick School at 5am and should finish around 9pm!!

 Jan (20th) - Gary Fitch's Dalesman AdWe don't really do plugs or links on our site but we've been working with Gary Fitch again on an advert for the Dalesman magazine and think it looks brilliant.

 December (8th) - Christmas PostChristmas is coming up fast and we've been making some changes to the postage rates on the website.
We'll be continuing with the free postage service and customers should receive orders before Christmas if they order before 1pm on Monday 21st of December.
For guaranteed Christmas delivery we'd recommend customers use our 24 hour courier service. If you order before 1pm on Wednesday 23rd of December your order should reach you by Christmas eve (a signature will be required - so you will need to be in!).

 December (1st) - Station Inn, RibbleheadAlan from the Station Inn in Ribblehead called in today to ask about some equipment. I thanked him for displaying our banner on his premises. In the summer Alan had been trying to organise an event in aid of SARDA (Search and Rescue Dogs Association) - who are users of Paramo clothing, we'd offered some prizes. He had said at the time that he would put up one of our banners. He's still got it up (and it's right above the front door) and he said it's on the picture of the building on the homepage of their website.

 November (29th) - Seasonal Web BannerAs per below, Our local professional photographer - Gary Fitch, has provided a couple of pictures for our December web banner. Just for you information the pictures are of Pen-Y-Ghent (one of the yorkshire 3 peaks) and Settle Town Center. Our shop is in the middle of the picture!
Just in case you haven't visited Settle - the picture of the town on our Decemeber banner is taken from Castleberg rock - the crag that overlooks the town. The crag pretty much marks the start of the Yorkshire Dales National Park - Settle is a great start for some amazing walking and only minutes away from some stunning scenery.

We're a great fan of his work (see my Christmas present last year from Ruth!) and we've now wangled some pictures for the website courtesy of Gary direct.
We've commisioned a series of banners for the comming months, all of local landmarks - the Yorskhire three peaks, Malham Cove, Settle and surrounds.
