Our technical Summit Hoodie is an exceptionally versatile mid layer for worldwide summer alpine and multi-activity use, being harness, rope, pack and helmet friendly. The Nikwax Fleece fabric provides renewable water-repellency, excellent insulation and a cosy feel. The generous sleeve/torso vents allow excellent temperature control and work systemically with the Fuera Ascent Windproof Jacket to create a highly flexible duo, precisely adjustable for variable conditions.

Our View: Finally a Paramo fleece that comes ready treated with Nikwax's TX-direct waterproofing. We've been saying to customers for a long time that you can treat Paramo mid layers and fleeces with the same Nikwax Tech Wash cleaner and TX-Direct (re)waterproofing treatments that you use with Paramo Directional waterproof fabrics. Whilst you don't get a waterproof fleece, it really works to enhance the water resistance - and now Paramo are supplying the Fuera Ascent technical fleece with the treatment already done!

The Paramo Summit Hoodie is a technical fleece which is exactly mated to the Paramo Fuera Ascent windproof jacket. Together they make up a waterproof jacket system - working as other Paramo jackets work - a windproof, waterproof outer with a pump-liner inner layer - directing moisture (both liquid and vapour) outwards to the highly breathable windproof layer for dispersal.

It has a more fitted shape with pockets positioned higher in the jacket (for use with a harness or pack) and features long 'pit' zips (that actually extend from the mid chest to the mid bicep on the arm) - absolutely loads of ventilation. The adjustable hood is large enough to accommodate a helmet and the Summit hoodie has a double zip along with a hem chord with a scooped tail. When combined with the Fuera Ascent jacket, it makes a really useful jacket.
