20160114_105620_resizedWhat's new about waterproof trousers?! Paramo’s New Cascada II trousers are really hitting the spot with our customers… If you are talking about a classic bit of outdoor kit, you can’t get more classic than a pair of Paramo waterproof trousers – the Cascada trouser (in both Men’s and Women’s versions) has been around for a long time. How long? ten years? Fifteen? Possibly more? What could Paramo possibly improve? 20160114_110710_resized The Cascada trouser has changed very little during it’s lifetime . Durable, waterproof and highly breathable, the original Cascada trouser has been the waterproof trouser of choice for thousands (more like tens of thousands) of dedicated hillwalkers for a long time. Why improve something that’s a classic? 822252af814e4f8c9ab6ceb5e2475f76 Last year saw the long awaited update to the Cascada waterproof trouser from Paramo. As mentioned, there was no drama, no drumroll – what’s exciting about a new waterproof trouser? We are all keen to see updates and improvements to kit here at Castleberg and the Cascada II trouser has been flying under the radar for the past season. It was only when we looked at how much positive feedback we were getting about the Cascada II, chatted to customers more and looked around the new Cascada II trouser a little more that we realised how great these waterproof trousers are and how much better they are than anything else we've seen so far. dc53dd41355342a3927b4f098701cd51 Why are they so great? First and foremost, the Cascada II trousers use a great waterproof fabric. The Paramo analogy fabric is a twin layer waterproof fabric that’s fully waterproof but very breathable and durable to boot. The trousers (like the rest of the Paramo waterproof range) are constructed without the complication of taped seams as the two layers of fabric are what keeps water out. This means that the trousers can be made with seams and features to make them truly durable and functional as well as waterproof. 20160114_105620_resized The key to the success of the Paramo Cascada II trousers is that they build on all the good bits of the original trousers and they remain firmly focused on the needs of the UK hillwalker. 20160114_110058_resized In our view, the main improvement in the Cascada II trouser is the fit. This has been significantly improved – gone is the excess material around the legs. The old Cascada trousers where never ‘baggy’ but the fit on the new trouser is now much more trim without being too tight or restrictive. Paramo have paid a lot of attention to getting this right and have done a great job in balancing the right amount of excess material in the new Cascada II trousers. 20160114_110818_resized Alongside the much improved fit Paramo have also added a few tweaks that have brought the Cascada II trousers up to date. A zip fly with fully buttoned waistband on the mens and women’s trousers makes them  much more practical to use. 9a8ad208109a48eda645b7fec8494618 Around the waist Paramo have also minimised the elastication on the trousers. The waistband is now more comfortable to wear and the belt loops have been increased and moved to improve the fit with a belt. 20160114_110726_resized All in all it’s the little tweaks that have improved the Paramo Cascada II trouser. Fundamentally, it’s a practical and well-designed trouser that's superbly well suited to hillwalking. Now it’s even more comfortable to wear. f27028ce14d2472ca123b7473369cdb8 We have a very wide range of Paramo Clothing in store.
