Since the first time I put a pair of Sense on my feet, they have always been the shoes I want to reach into the cupboard for! There has always been one small issue with the them though- Grip! Despite my best efforts unfortunately there are occasions when the Sense just aren't up to the job in terms of traction. When I first saw the Softground version, I knew they would be the shoe that would allow me to always have that feeling of light weight, natural, fast performance, even when it gets wet. I was just praying that Salomon had kept all of the things I love! They didn't disappoint!
The feel and ride is almost identical to that on the Sense Ultra with the sole unit similar to that of the more aggressive Speedcross. Is this the perfect shoe?
After just one 20km run, over a mixture terrain, its pretty hard to say. But my first thoughts are YES, YES IT IS!!
I can't wait to get back out on the trails and take them for another blast. And with the weather on the turn, I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunity to give them a real hammering in some proper "softground" conditions!
