True Mountain is a new outdoor performance brand who design and make high quality clothing right here in the UK (Preston to be precise!)...Its quite rare to find a totally new outdoor brand (founded in 2014) that offers excellent quality products combined with unique features and a strong brand philosophy. True Mountain embodies all of this and more.
True Mountain produces bespoke technical clothing right here in the UK and we are excited to start a journey with the brand by introducing a couple of key items to our stock with the eVent Ultralite Smock and Overtrousers.
The holy grail for seekers of fast and light adventures is truly waterproof, highly breathable and extremely lightweight full body cover which they can use all day when the weather is really bad or easily carry in a pack or waist bag in case of emergencies. The True Mountain eVent Ultralite Smock is made from 2.5 layer, 80g/m2 eVent DV Lite fabric which has a 10,000mm waterproof rating and 18,000 gm/m2/24hrs breathability rating....impressive numbers! Add to that an overall weight of just 175g for a large and this is a great top for fell running, mountain marathons, cycling or simply training.
As well as the fabric, the construction of the Ultralite Smock also aids its protection levels. All seams are twin process flat seam constructed and sewn with Coats Epic water-resistant thread prior to being fully sealed ensuring minimal possibility of seam water ingression as well as maximal comfort and durability. The YKK Aquaguard zip is top of the industry standards and is integrated with a laser-cut, laminated storm flap for maximal protection. The full hood is simple in design yet highly effective. The elasticated face aperture ensure a close fit that moves with the head and doesn't blow off in wild weather! A tab to retain the hood is a nice finishing touch to keep the hood secure when not in use.
Fit wise the eVent Ultralite Smock is designed to be worn during active pursuits such as running, cycling, hiking etc. and as such has a close, athletic fit which reduces excess fabric flapping in the wind and also maximises the performance of the materials used. Fully elasticated cuffs and a part elasticated hem is simple but highly effective at keeping the top in place and preventing drafts getting inside.
To achieve the full body cover requirements of most Fell Races and Mountain Marathons we also offer the True Mountain eVent Overtrousers. Made using the same eVent DLV Lite fabric as the Smock the Overtrousers have an elasticated waist which includes an internal key pocket which is ideal for keeping small valuables safe. Long ankle zips ensure the trousers are easy to put on and take off with shoes on and the laser-cut baffle and YKK Aquaguard zip mean no water can get in. Equally as lightweight as the smock at just 135g for a size medium both pieces pack down tiny for low volume carriage.
