Our View - Hoka Evo Jawz Women:
The Hoka Evo Jawz takes the Hoka brand a little bit away from its traditional maximal footwear with a much more race-orientated, lightweight and stripped back fully off-road shoe.
The Jawz has a close fit, with the strong, robust reinforced ‘rip-stop’ fabric in the upper providing a secure and comfortable fit that is sure to withstand the rough & tough of the trail.
Lightweight at just 204g, the Jawz is also low profile with a 3mm heel to toe drop that keeps you close to ground and gives a stable feel when traversing technical terrain. To further enhance the Jawz off-road capabilities the outsole features aggressive 6mm lugs made from sticky Vibram Megagrip rubber that will hold on to any terrain.
Although the Jawz is much less built up than the traditional Hoka shoes, it still offers a good level of underfoot cushioning via the PROFLY midsole which has an impact absorbing 21mm stack at the heel and 18mm at the forefoot.
We think the new Hoka Jawz is sure to be a bit hit with anyone looking for an aggressive, grippy trail and fell running shoe that still offers a little extra underfoot protection than some of the competitors.
