Our View - Scott RC 3 Part Running Pole:
The Scott RC 3 Part Running Pole is new this season and looks very impressive. It’s Scott’s race pole (Hence the “RC” bit) and it’s designed to be light and as easy to use on the go. It certainly looks the part.
First thing to mention in that the pole uses carbon fibre sections to keep the weight as low as possible – Carbon is the best choice for poles to keep the weight low and it’s very strong. The three carbon sections are connected with a quality cord and alignment system that works smoothly when deployed. Being three sections means that they are easy to stow – on the front or rear of the pack and very quick to deploy and use.
The other great feature about the poles is how they have designed the height adjustment. Scott have used an innovative approach to this – on the RC 3 Part Running Pole there is a long handle which the strap can slide up and down. The strap is secured as the collar for it is angled against the pole – this means that your weight and pressure applied when using the pole keeps the strap in one place when in use. If you want to adjust the height of the pole, simply release the pressure and move the collar (which is moveable with a little pressure – it’s not too loose) and keep going. Really impressive.
