Our View – Scott W’s Kinabalu RC 2.0:

The Scott Kinabalu RC 2.0 has been significantly updated this year but retains the same goals; to be as fast as a racing flat but with just the right amount of traction for confident running on off-road terrain. Weighing just 230g this is a shoe that you can put on and forget you are wearing it.

The outsole has seen a major redesign with the introduction of the Hybrid Traction design that delivers maximum straight-line power while providing grip during high speed cornering. The level of grip is perfect for good quality, man-made trails and tracks or dry grassy conditions, it’s not for wet and mud but that’s not the shoes target terrain.

The Kinetic Foam and EVA Midsole provide just the right amount of cushioning and responsiveness for fast paced training and racing. The shoe has been designed to keep you supported and protected in distances all the way up to the marathon.

Upper wise the Kinabalu RC 2.0 retains the no-sew design and internal fit system for comfortable, close and secure fit while the breathable mesh around the toebox helps to keep you cool in hot conditions.

A 3mm drop encourages a midfoot strike which is deemed to be the most efficient and effective for fast, economical running. If you are looking for a fast paced, comfortable trail shoe that is great for hardpacked trail training and racing the Scott Kinabalu RC 2.0 is a great choice.
