Millet LogoMillet is one of our new brands for Autumn/Winter this year. We're exciting to be stocking the brand, so here's a little more about Millet and a few of our highlights of the Millet kit we've been testing. We’re really proud to be growing our Millet range of alpine packs and technical clothing. Millet is a well- respected French brand that stands out in terms of the design, quality and performance of all the gear they produce. Established in 1921, Millet soon relocated to Annecy in the heart of the French Alps and since then they have been making well regarded technical alpine equipment and clothing since then. Chamonix Mountain Guides The Millet range of outdoor kit and clothing spans high altitude expedition level equipment all the way through to outdoor lifestyle gear. All Millet products are well designed, made from quality materials and designed with performance in mind. This is demonstrated by Millet's close ties with The Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix - the world's oldest and, arguably, most prestigious mountain guide company. Many modern Millet products bear the mark of the guides - showing that they have been developed and tested with the mountain guides and are produced to the highest possible standards. Millet Prolighter 25 New packs this month are the awesome Millet Prolighter and Aerial series, and the Millet Respiration. Three great styles perfectly designed for their role. Millet Kamet GTX Jacket On the clothing front we also have the supreme Millet Kamet GTX jacket- a solid, dependable waterproof designed and constructed in true Millet style, with the badge of the Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix on the inside to prove the credentials. With a robust Goretex membrane and high quality materials and hardwear, the Kamet jacket will be a long term partner for winter mountains or summer hills alike. Millet Aerial 32 We’ve been testing them- Steve has been wearing the Millet Kamet GTX jacket out in the summer Dales weather (this year more like a Scottish November) and Ruth has been using the Millet Aerial 32 as a safety sack for her ‘other’ job as an field tutor (she won’t be swapping back to her old pack by the way). Both the Kamet and the Aerial 32 have performed above and beyond. The best features for us:   Steve: The Millet Kamet GTX looks great, and performs brilliantly. I particularly like the fit- the ergonomic and articulated sleeves make it comfortable with a great range of motion. Ruth: The ventilated back system on the Millet Aerial 32 works well for me and means I can carry all my kit comfortably. I need a lot of gear with me and the Aerial has the space to cope whilst still feeling comfortable.   NB - Dave and Ruth are currently in Austria climbing and hiking - they've taken the Millet Prolighter 25 Mens and Ladies packs and will report back soon.
