Our View – Rab Women’s Phantom Pull-On:
The Women’s Rab Phantom Pull-On is one of the best ultralight trail running waterproof jackets we have seen. Weighing only 70g (!) and packing down to a size that sits in the palm of your hand this really is a jacket for those looking to save every gram. That’s not to say the jacket skimps on performance or features, on the country it is highly technical and designed to keep you protected whatever the weather.
Made from a waterproof two-layer construction, with taped seams and lightweight 7D Pertex Shield 2.5L material will keep you dry when the rain falls. Thanks to the slim fit and stretch fabric the Phantom Pull-On won’t flap around in the wind and also reduces bulk.
To reduce weight and the need to adjust fiddly toggles in poor conditions the Phantom Pull-on has a low-volume elasticated hood and half micro elasticated hem and cuffs all of which work brilliantly to keep the elements out.
If you are looking for a high performance, ultralight waterproof jacket for training and racing in poor conditions then we highly reccoemend you take a look at the Rab Phantom Pull-On. The over-the-head design doesn’t suit everyone’s needs but if it does then this is an exceptional example.
