Dolomite make quality walking boots and shoes. The brand has been around for a long time and has been in and out of the UK for a while but now under the ownership of the Scott family we are expecting bigger and better things in the near future.
Our first foray into the Dolomite range is the Tofana GTX walking boot. We were looking for a solid, sturdy and relatlight weight fully trekking boot that would offer good all round, all year performance.
Fit is important and despite the reputation for Italian footwear to be on the narrow side, in our experience we find most brands are plenty wide for most UK feet and this is true of the Dolomite Trofana GTX.
Like all quality walking boots the Trofana boots are all lined with GoreTex. This means that between the nubuck leather outer and GoreTex, the boot will remain reliably waterproof.
The Trofana features a quality multi-density trekking mid sole unit that will provide reliable cushioning walking with and without a rucksack.
The Dolomite Trofana also features a Vibram sole unit.
The sole unit is grippy and has decent sized lugs to deal with mud as well as rocky terrains.
We like the Dolomite Trofana as it follows a simple, classic trekking boot design and focuses on quality materials like the lacing hardwear and leather. All in all, it's simple and solid boot that's ideal for a lot of foot shapes and for customers looking for a little more structure and stability.
