Our View – Paramo Aspira 360° Smock:
The Paramo Aspira 360° Smock is a unique and feature-rich expedition smock that uses a Pump Liner made from recycled Paramo garments and waste from the textile industry.
The smock has been exhaustively tested to provide unrivalled weather protection and ventilation for outdoor professionals in cold environments and extreme conditions. Ideal for snow sports, winter walking and scrambling above the snow line, indeed any cold-weather outdoor activities for work or recreation. When it is vital you remain dry, warm, and comfortable the efficient moisture control prevents chilling, and good ventilation options stop you from overheating.
The Aspira 360° Smock has a cleverly designed hood and a range of useful pockets that help ensure you have anything you need close to hand. The hood design ensures an excellent field of vision in the worst weather with a fully adjustable, high-volume hood that fits over helmets and rolls away when not in use. There are 5 internal and external pockets that accommodate navigation equipment, valuables, snacks, and more for multiple storage options.
The Aspira 360° Smock has been rigorously tested in the Leeds University Rain Room to resist at least four hours of heavy rain, which is approximately five times the intensity of normal heavy rain in the UK.
The 360° in the Aspira name refers to the use of Paramo’s chemically recycled materials that have been incorporated into the jacket. This process converts used textiles back into high-quality raw materials and therefore a closed loop supply chain for clothing manufacturer which has so far been limited.
