The Altra Timp Trail Womens running shoe is definitely part of the Altra trail shoe family.

We are great fans of the Altra shoe range. We’ve used them extensively and talked a lot of our customers through the options and fits in the Altra range and have got plenty of feedback. The Timp offers something new – a womens trail shoe with decent levels of cushioning and the essential DNA of an Altra shoe – zero drop and a wide toe box.

The Altra Timp has a 29mm stack height and so offers a good level of cushioning (better than the classic Lone Peak shoe). The aim of the shoe is to provide trail comfort over medium and long distances and cushioning for customers looking for more comfort from a trail shoe.

Grip – the 4mm lugs on the Altra Timp Trail shoes offer decent off road grip – the sole unit is ideally suited to paths, trails and rocky terrain which is where the majority of us spend our time in the hills.

The Altra Timp features the essential of Altra – zero drop (heel and toe heights when wearing the shoe are the same).

Foot-shaped toe box – a wide fitting toe box in the shoe suits runners looking for a wide fit and those looking for additional room to enhance comfort on longer runs.

The Altra Timp also features a sub-mesh that’s highly reflective – ideal for night running.

The upper is high end and well-constructed on the Timp.

The Altra Timp Women’s trail shoe features a gaiter trap and hook for easy attachment of lightweight gaiters.

The lacing and tongue of the Timp is asymmetrical to offer an enhanced and more secure fit.

All in all, we are very impressed with the Altra Timp – it’s a well turned out women’s cushioned trail running shoe and should appeal to any runners looking for a wider shoe for comfort and more cushioning. Grip is good too – ideal for our local Yorkshire Dales terrain!
