Our View - OMM Classic 25:
The OMM Classic 25 really is the backbone of the OMM range. First developed in 1974 it has been an ever popular fell and ultra-running backpack and this year it has been redeveloped for the modern era.
Designed to meet the needs of the weight conscious athlete the OMM Classic 25 provides a near perfect balance between being lightweight but maintaining maximum functionality for the long-distance runner. Central to this is accessibility on the go, comfort and adaptability thanks to the ability to add and remove components depending on needs.
Carrying needs are taken care of thanks to the large main compartment which is well covered with the over the top lid which also houses its own zip pocket. In addition there are large mesh pockets on the sides and an extra-large front dump pocket which are ideal for quickly stowing kit on the go. Zipped hip pockets are ideal for small essentials and you can add on further elements such as bottle holders, Go Pod or a Compressor Pod as extras if desired.
Neat features included in the updated pack include a removeable waistbelt that doubles as a stand alone running belt, two pegs which hold the waistbelt in place when fully assembled also double as tent pegs meaning two less to carry from your tent set up! As with the original there is also a Duomat fold out sleep mat which is doubles as your back padding but if you want to be super light strip all this away and you have a pack that weighs only 405g.
The updated materials are also a huge bonus increasing the packs durability substantially thanks to the TPU reinforced nylon in high wear areas which is also water resistant meaning the pack is even more protective than ever.
