Our View – VJ XTRM2:

The VJ XTRM2 has a great new look and a whole host of new features that will make the shoe even better than its extremely popular predecessor the VJ XTRM. Designed specifically for medium distance events over tough, challenge terrain the VJ XTRM2 is a great shoe to have in your trail and fell running armoury.

The last (sole) of the XTRM2 has been reshaped to provide a slightly rounder, roomier toebox allowing the toes to spread a little more adding comfort to longer duration outings. The XTRM2’s midsole isa highly responsive CMEVA and also includes a rock plate for underfoot protection against sharp rocks as well as providing a degree of torsional rigidity.

A new “racing” tongue is attached at both sides preventing the tongue from moving during use and the new lighter Fitlock-system helps to secure the foot in place around the arch for a locked in feel further enhanced by the lacing system.

The new soft heelcap shapes perfectly around the heel reducing pressure on the achilles tendon and the specially design “traction textile” inside the heel ensures the isn’t any movement to prevent rubbing and blisters.

Upper durability is maximised thanks to the Schoeller Keprotec material which not only increase the longevity of the shoe it also helps to protect the foot against external trail debris.

A new outsole pattern is designed to offer the best grip on the planet in variable and challenging terrain. Superior Contact - the outsole’s special rubber offers a phenomenal grip on hard and wet surfaces and the 6mm lugs ensures superb traction on softer terrains.
