Finally it's here! We now have a customer loyalty scheme in store.

It's been a while in the making. We've been wanting to do a customer loyalty scheme in store since we reopened after covid but it's been an long journey. Basically to get the software working to manage the points scheme (and do it properly) we've had to upgrade all our systems. So, apologies, it's taken a while.

Our points scheme is simple. If you sign up you get 10% of the value of each shop purchase as points to spend on future purchases. Even existing sale items, books and maps. Often customers ask if we can do the website exclusive price in store. If you sign up to the Loyalty points scheme we can offer the same, if not better value! Whilst you can only earn points on in-store purchases, you can also spend them online (just create a password on the website - use the 'forgot password' link on the logon page using the email address you registered with).

If you want to know the ins and outs of it, here's the blurb from the Loyalty Points policy page:

Earn Loyalty Points

Points can currently be earned for making purchases in-store — every time you make a purchase you earn points based on the price of products purchased and these points are added to your Loyalty Points balance. A few items are excluded from generating points - such as gift vouchers.

Loyalty Points Exchange Rates

The value of Loyalty Points are fixed to 1 point being worth 1 penny, so 100 points is worth £1. Points are only redeemable against purchases and have no external cash value.

Redeem Loyalty Points

You can redeem your Loyalty Points at the checkout online or in our store. If you have accumulated Loyalty Points, to redeem them you will have the option of using Loyalty Points as one of the payment methods. The option to use Loyalty Points, as well as your balance and the monetary equivalent of this balance, will be shown to you in the Payment Method area of the checkout online or communicated at the till in our store. Redeemable Loyalty Points can be used in conjunction with other payment methods such as credit cards, gift cards and more.

Loyalty Points Minimums and Maxiums

Loyalty Points are currently not capped in terms of minimum or maximum values that can be redeemed.

Manage your Loyalty Points

You have the ability to view and manage your Loyalty Points through your customer account on the website. You will receive an email each time you spend or earn points and your points will be summarised on every receipt of purchase in-store. You must declare you have an account when making a purchase so the points can be applied and we cannot retrospectively or manually add points onto your account. Points can only be applied by making purchases. Online purchases are exempt from generating points as our website prices are automatically discounted in lieu of Loyalty Points. However, you can log on to your account on the website (you will need to generate a password via the 'forgot password' link on the logon page and spend your points online to gain a further discount.

Loyalty Points Expiration

Loyalty Points expire after one year (365 days). Points will expire in the order from which they were first earned but are spent in that order too.

Exceptions

  • Any changes to the Loyalty policy will be fully communicated prior to going live.
  • We cannot add or redeem points retrospectively.
  • The account holder must be deemed as the purchaser for points to be applied.
  • In the case of special orders, bulk purchases or business accounts. We reserve the right to refuse account facilities.
