2016 sees the broadening of the Scott trail running shoe range and there’s a couple of exciting new models that we think will be perfect for our customers. First and foremost we are really looking forward to the new
Scott Kinabalu RC trail running shoe.
The Scott Kinabalu RC (Racing Concept) trail running shoe has been designed as a low to mid profile racing trail shoe that’s ultra-light but rugged enough for all types of trails.
With a sole unit that’s optimised for traction in dry and moderate conditions (with a Vibram Megagrip sole unit) and a light but rugged rock plate to tackle technical, rocky terrain, the Scott RC will be ideal as a race day shoe.
The mid sole uses Scott’s excellent Aero Foam EVA – its lighter and has better rebound properties than standard compounds. The overall sole unit has a minimal curved profile which helps with running form and cadence.
The upper is a one piece mesh with bonded components. With a light rand and a clean interior, the shoe is simple and very well made. From everything we’ve seen, the Kinabalu RC is simple, clean and will be one of the best racing shoes we’ve seen for dry running or on-trail racing. It’s likely to be priced around £95 – (significantly) cheaper than many of the shoes it will surpass.
